Vacation Minimalists-Part #3: Vacation Minimalists

 

Now, with what we’ve just learned in mind let’s see the same family, same vacation, but this time a different outlook on what to take…….

 

One day a family decides to go on a family vacation. The kids are excited, but don’t get super wound up because the house is almost perfectly clean.

Mom tells them what they need to pack, and then to bring it to her to make sure that the items that they choose line up with the  weather for the weekend. Packing literally takes half an hour, and the bags to go to the door all fit  in a laundry basket.

Then they have lunch and clean the house so that it is nice and tidy for when they get back from their vacation. Now that the house is clean and everything is packed everyone has free time, time to spend doing the things that they love, and thinking about how much fun the vacation is going to be. (Okay maybe their getting a little bit more excited, because Dad’s workday just seems to be taking it’s sweet old time today. Go figure!)

Eventually Dad finally comes home and all he has to do is grab the basket and put it in the back of the vehicle. It’s as simple as that, and then everyone just has to get in the car buckle up and they’re off.

There is hardly any complaining because no one is squished, hot, tired, hyper, and the list goes on. When they arrive at the hotel for the night the kids are excited, but they are not stressed, so they don’t make a ton of noise when they enter the hotel.

When they get to the room the kids don’t jump on the beds screaming their heads off and Mom isn’t yelling her head off trying to get them to be quiet. And where is Dad? He’s there and is able to relax and enjoy because there is nothing else to bring to the room other that the one thing the laundry basket.

With all of the “basics” the important things that they need for a vacation to enjoy with each other.
